Listen to an actual reading given by Edgar Cayce

The Association for Research and Enlightenment recently unearthed an actual recording of Edgar Cayce giving a health reading, and we are happy to offer a link to the audio sample on our Web site! To listen, copy and paste the following URL in your browser:

This reading was given in New York City on January 17, 1934, and was recorded on a phonograph. The reading was given to a 57-year-old man (identified as number 442-2, as this was his second reading) seeking assistance for improving his health. Below is the actual transcript of the reading as recorded by Edgar Cayce's stenographer, Gladys Davis.

To 4 ounces of rub alcohol, add:

Witchhazel.........................2 ounces,
Russian White Oil..................2 ounces,
Benzoin, Tincture of...............1 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras.................1/4 ounce,
Pure Olive Oil...................1/4 ounce.

Shake these together each time before a small quantity is poured to be massaged into this portion of the body as indicated, from the 6th and 7th dorsal to the 1st and 2nd cervical, and in that direction. Not from the cervical area towards the dorsal, but from the 6th and 7th dorsal towards the cervical - just what the body will absorb, see?

We would also after such manipulation, then massage, after the fourth or fifth treatment of this compound, use or make corrective measures in the alignment along the cerebro-spinal system. Not moving all at once, in the area indicated, where these are necessary for alignment, but as the body will allow for same - see?
